Compact off-axis guider designed for Player One Ares series and planetary cameras. It features an 8 × 14 mm prism, 1.25-inch helical focuser, M42, M48 and M54 connections and a 17.5 mm extension length.
Designed for astrophotography guiding, the Player One FHD-OAG MINI diverts part of the telescope's light path towards a guide camera. This allows guiding directly through the main telescope without requiring a separate guide scope.
Its compact design is intended for Player One Ares series and planetary cameras. With an extension length of only 17.5 mm, it can be integrated into an imaging train while keeping the overall system compact.
8 × 14 mm Prism
The FHD-OAG MINI uses an 8 × 14 mm prism with proportions close to a 16:9 format.
With a height of only 8 mm, the prism can be positioned closer to the centre of the optical path, allowing more light to reach the guide camera.
Player One states that this design provides a no-vignetting result with the Xena-M camera.
Compatibility with Different Guide Sensors
Player One illustrates the available field with several guide cameras and sensor formats.
1.25-Inch Helical Focuser
The guide camera is installed in a 1.25-inch helical focuser for precise focusing.
The upper section also features an M42 × 0.75 thread for attaching a compatible guide camera.
Prism Adjustment and Locking
The prism position can be adjusted according to the optical configuration.
A dedicated locking screw secures the prism once the required position has been selected.
Telescope-Side Connections
The modular design of the FHD-OAG MINI provides several telescope-side connection options.
Player One Accessory Compatibility
Player One's connection diagram shows integration of the FHD-OAG MINI with several accessories from the range.
Compact Construction
The off-axis guider body is manufactured from 6061-T6 aluminium. The mechanical drawing specifies a 72 mm outer diameter and a 17.5 mm extension length.
This compact design allows off-axis guiding to be integrated with the main camera, guide camera and filter system without unnecessarily increasing the size of the imaging train.
