- New
New-generation off-axis guider featuring an 8 × 14 mm prism and 1.25-inch helical focuser. The FHD-OAG MAX combines a slimmer 46 mm focuser housing, improved light-leak prevention and modular M42, M48, M54 and M68 connectivity.
Designed for deep-sky astrophotography guiding, the Player One FHD-OAG MAX uses a prism to divert part of the telescope's light path towards a guide camera.
This latest version incorporates several improvements based on user feedback. Player One has reduced the size of the focuser housing, redesigned the internal structure to minimise light leakage and improved the smoothness of the focusing mechanism.
The FHD-OAG MAX supports Player One Poseidon, Zeus and Artemis series cameras.
Slimmer Design
One of the main improvements concerns the guide-camera focuser. Its maximum outer diameter has been reduced from 53 mm to 46 mm.
This slimmer profile provides additional clearance around the off-axis guider and makes installation easier in imaging trains where several accessories are positioned close together.
Improved Light-Leak Prevention
The internal structure has also been redesigned to minimise unwanted light leakage.
This is particularly important for off-axis guiding, as stray light reaching the guide camera can interfere with guide-star detection.
1.25-Inch Helical Focuser
The guide camera is installed in a 1.25-inch helical focuser for precise focusing.
On this new version, Player One has reduced the rotational resistance of the mechanism to provide smoother and easier adjustment.
8 × 14 mm Prism
The FHD-OAG MAX uses an 8 × 14 mm prism with proportions close to a 16:9 format.
With a height of only 8 mm, the prism can be positioned closer to the centre of the optical path, allowing it to receive more light.
Player One states that this design provides a no-vignetting result with the Xena-M guide camera.
Player One Guide-Camera Compatibility
Player One illustrates the available field with several sensor formats: the Ceres-M with Sony IMX462 1/3-inch sensor, the Sedna-M with Sony IMX178 1/2-inch sensor and the Xena-M with Sony IMX174 or IMX249 1/1.2-inch sensor.
