Description

The Askar 0.8x reducer for 160APO is engineered to fully exploit the optical performance of the Askar 160APO refractor. Once installed, it reduces the focal length to 896 mm and the focal ratio to f/5.6, offering a wider field of view and improved efficiency for deep-sky imaging.
Its quadruplet optical design ensures corrected field performance and minimizes aberrations across a full-frame 44 mm image circle. The standard 55 mm back focus measured from the base of the M48 male thread provides straightforward compatibility with most astronomy cameras.
The reducer features an M92x1 front thread and rear adapters in M68x1, M54x0.75, and M48x0.75 formats, with the latter including an internal 2-inch filter thread. The entire unit is CNC-machined and supplied with threaded metal caps to protect the optics when not in use.
