Designed for astrophotography and visual observation, the Sky-Watcher Evostar 120EDX uses a 120 mm ED apochromatic doublet incorporating a Japanese Ohara FPL-53 glass element.
Its 900 mm focal length at f/7.5 provides a versatile configuration for deep-sky imaging as well as detailed lunar and planetary observation.
The 2-inch dual-speed 11:1 Crayford focuser features a 2.8-inch indexed drawtube and integrated 360° rotatable adapter.
The aluminium optical tube incorporates internal baffling, a retractable dew shield, tube rings with a top accessory rail that also serves as a carrying handle, and a 45 mm dovetail bar.
FPL-53 ED Apochromatic Doublet
The 120 mm objective uses an ED doublet incorporating a Japanese Ohara FPL-53 glass element.
This design greatly reduces chromatic aberration and provides sharp, high-contrast images.
