150 mm parabolic Newtonian astrograph designed for astrophotography. The Sky-Watcher Quattro 150P features a 600 mm focal length at f/4, borosilicate primary mirror, RAQ coatings and a 2-inch dual-speed 10:1 Linear Power focuser.
Designed primarily for astrophotography, the Sky-Watcher Quattro 150P uses a 150 mm parabolic Newtonian optical system with a 600 mm focal length and fast f/4 focal ratio.
Its design is particularly suited to deep-sky imaging while also allowing visual observation through its compatibility with 1.25-inch and 2-inch eyepieces.
150 mm Parabolic Newtonian Optics
The parabolic primary mirror has a diameter of 150 mm.
Its geometry brings incoming light rays to the same focal point and eliminates the spherical aberration associated with spherical mirrors used at fast focal ratios.
With its 600 mm focal length, the Quattro 150P operates at f/4.
Designed for Astrophotography
The fast f/4 focal ratio makes the Quattro 150P particularly suitable for astronomical imaging.
Its 600 mm focal length provides a useful field for imaging many extended deep-sky objects including nebulae, galaxies and star clusters.
Borosilicate Primary Mirror
The primary mirror is manufactured from low-expansion borosilicate glass.
This material reduces dimensional changes caused by temperature variations and helps maintain optical stability during observing and imaging sessions.
Radiant Aluminum Quartz RAQ Coating
The primary and secondary mirrors feature Sky-Watcher Radiant Aluminum Quartz RAQ coatings.
The coating system combines reflective aluminium with protective layers designed to improve reflectivity and durability.
Sky-Watcher specifies 94% reflectivity.
64 mm Secondary Mirror
The secondary mirror has a 64 mm minor axis.
Its dimensions are suited to the imaging-oriented design of the Quattro 150P.
It is supported by four 0.5 mm thin spider vanes designed to minimise obstruction of the optical path.
2-Inch Dual-Speed Linear Power Focuser
Focusing is provided by a 2-inch dual-speed Linear Power focuser.
The drawtube is supported by four precision ball bearings to provide good mechanical stability and minimise image shift when supporting a camera or heavy accessory.
The 10:1 reduction allows precise fine focusing.
1.25-Inch and 2-Inch Compatibility
Adapters for both 1.25-inch and 2-inch eyepieces are supplied.
This allows the telescope to be used with a wide range of imaging accessories and astronomical eyepieces.
Rigid Steel Optical Tube
The optical tube is manufactured from rolled steel and features an internally darkened finish.
This provides good mechanical rigidity while reducing unwanted internal reflections.
6 × 30 Finderscope
A fully multi-coated 6 × 30 optical finderscope is supplied.
It incorporates a crosshair reticle to assist with locating and centring celestial objects.
Mounting
The optical tube is supplied with tube rings and a 45 mm dovetail bar.
A piggyback camera adapter is also included.
