DESCRIPTION
The Celestron StarSense Explorer 8" Dobsonian brings a revolution to visual astronomy by combining large-aperture optics with patented StarSense sky recognition technology. With your smartphone docked into the mount, the telescope uses your phone's camera to analyze the stars above and guide you in real time to celestial targets. No experience required—just dock, launch the app, and explore.
Its 8” parabolic primary mirror with XLT coatings ensures bright, contrast-rich images of the Moon, planets, star clusters, and nebulae. The high-quality optics, paired with the easy-to-use StarSense Explorer app powered by SkySafari, make this Dobsonian perfect for both urban stargazing and deep-sky observation in darker locations.
The stable Dobsonian base includes large altitude bearings with adjustable tension, Teflon azimuth pads, and braces for increased rigidity. Tracking objects is smooth and accurate. The included 2” Crayford focuser ensures precise focusing and accommodates 1.25” and 2” eyepieces with its included adapters.
