Description
The DayStar Filters Combo Quark Chromosphere is engineered for detailed solar surface study in Hydrogen Alpha at 656 nanometers revealing filaments granulation active regions and dynamic features. It integrates DayStar Fabry Perot filtering technology into a compact single assembly that inserts directly into the diagonal followed by an eyepiece.
It performs best on refractors from F15 to F30. Maksutov telescopes require full aperture front ERF to prevent overheating and SCT telescopes require an off axis aperture reduced ERF to slow focal ratio and protect internal components. Telecentric barlows compatible and available separately.
Thermal tuning allows plus or minus 0 point 5 angstrom adjustment with 0 point 1 angstrom detents. LEDs indicate power warming ready and fault. Exact bandpass is not provided by the manufacturer as it depends on telescope configuration.
The unit has a 25 mm integrated blocking filter and 21 mm clear aperture. Zero power design with no barlow. Internal baffles increase contrast and AR coatings are optimized for 656 nm. Full disk viewing possible up to approximately 1800 mm focal length.
Powered via USB 5 volt 1 point 5 amp supply includes 90 to 240 volt AC adapter with US UK EU AU plugs. Optional battery enables full day operation. Supplied in Twist Case for dust free protection. Five year warranty. High demand may cause backorder.
