The ADPS III system enables afocal projection for digital cameras with non-interchangeable lenses such as compact, mirrorless or camcorder models. Unlike OPFA systems used with DSLRs, it allows minimal distance between the eyepiece and camera lens, reducing vignetting and maximizing field sharpness.
This version is based on the ADPS IV core unit and adds a 16 mm thick 2"/SCT female thread adapter (50.8 mm diameter), compatible with standard Schmidt-Cassegrain focusers (Celestron or Meade). This provides a rigid, tilt-free attachment to the telescope.
A T-2 sliding focuser with locking ring allows fine tuning of the distance between eyepiece and lens, and easy rotation for ideal camera framing. Three included T-2 extension tubes (2 x 15 mm, 1 x 7.5 mm) offer control over the projection distance and magnification.
Compatible with all 31.75 mm projection eyepieces up to 38 mm outer diameter. Additional T-2 extensions can be added to increase the projection scale, even for CCD imaging.
The camera connects via a DT-Ring matching the camera's brand and model, screwed onto the front lens filter thread. If no standard thread is available, a separate filter adapter must be sourced. Always consult your camera’s manual for compatibility.
