Description

The GSO 2" photo-visual coma corrector, manufactured in Taiwan by Guan Sheng Optical (GSO), is engineered to improve optical performance in fast Newtonian systems. It uses a 4-element, 2-group fully multi-coated optical design to correct coma and field curvature, ensuring pinpoint stars even at the edges of the field.

Optimized for f/4 telescopes, it performs exceptionally well between f/4 and f/5. The modular design includes a 2" eyepiece holder with dual thumbscrews and a non-marring brass compression ring to protect accessory barrels. For astrophotography, the eyepiece holder can be removed, exposing an M48 thread for direct camera attachment, and an M48-to-M42/T2 adapter is included for use with standard T-rings.

The corrector slightly increases magnification (~1.1x) and requires 75 mm ± 5 mm back focus. For example, when using a Canon/Nikon DSLR (55 mm back focus with M48 T-ring), a 20 mm spacer is needed between the corrector and camera adapter.
