Description
The SP54i to M49a adapter is part of Baader Planetarium’s Hyperion DT-Ring series, developed for high-precision afocal projection. Its optimized design allows the camera lens to be positioned extremely close to the eyepiece, reducing vignetting and improving image sharpness.
It is compatible with DT Adapter II and III, attaching directly to Hyperion 68° eyepieces. It can also be used with Morpheus 76° eyepieces when combined with Baader adapters #2458040 and #2958080, providing wide compatibility with premium wide-field eyepieces.
With an optical length of only 1 mm, it ensures precise optical alignment. This model is a reducing adapter with an M49 thread on the lens side, fitting many cameras and photographic lenses with this standard filter thread.
For DSLR users employing 2" filters, it can be paired with the M48i to SP54a filter holder for (D)SLR (#2408166), allowing filter integration directly into the optical path without increasing the eyepiece-to-camera distance.
Precision-machined from aluminium, this adapter is lightweight (10 g) yet strong. It integrates perfectly with Baader’s modular SP54 system, ensuring a stable and reliable connection for afocal astrophotography.
