200 mm parabolic Newtonian telescope with a 1000 mm focal length and f/5 focal ratio. The Sky-Watcher Explorer 200P combines low-expansion borosilicate mirrors, RAQ coatings, a dual-fit 1.25/2-inch focuser and a 9 × 50 finderscope.
Designed as a versatile telescope for astronomical observation, the Sky-Watcher Explorer 200P uses a 200 mm parabolic Newtonian optical system with a 1000 mm focal length and f/5 focal ratio.
Its 200 mm aperture provides detailed views of the Moon and planets while offering useful light-gathering capability for nebulae, galaxies, star clusters and double stars.
Both primary and secondary mirrors are manufactured from low-expansion borosilicate glass and feature Radiant Aluminum Quartz RAQ coatings with stated reflectivity of up to 94%.
The focuser supports both 1.25-inch and 2-inch accessories. Two eyepieces, a 2× Barlow lens and a 9 × 50 finderscope are supplied with the optical tube.
200 mm Parabolic Primary Mirror
The 200 mm primary mirror features a parabolic surface designed to bring incoming light rays to the same focal point and avoid the spherical aberration associated with spherical mirrors at fast focal ratios.
With a 1000 mm focal length, the Explorer 200P operates at f/5.
Borosilicate Mirrors
Both primary and secondary mirrors are manufactured from low-expansion borosilicate glass.
This material promotes faster thermal equilibrium and helps minimise changes in mirror shape during cooling.
Radiant Aluminum Quartz RAQ Coating
Both mirrors feature Sky-Watcher Radiant Aluminum Quartz RAQ coatings.
Sky-Watcher specifies reflectivity of up to 94% together with a durable protective optical finish.
Lunar, Planetary and Deep-Sky Observation
