Description

The Tecnosky Newton 250 mm F4 Light Weight is a high-quality parabolic Newtonian telescope designed for both astrophotography and visual observing. Its 250 mm aperture and 1000 mm focal length provide a fast F/4 focal ratio, making it particularly suitable for deep-sky imaging while also delivering excellent visual performance on nebulae, galaxies, the Moon and planets.

The optical tube is manufactured from carbon fiber, offering low weight, exceptional rigidity and excellent resistance to temperature changes. This minimizes focus drift and collimation changes while ensuring long-term optical and mechanical stability.

The Light Weight version features a honeycomb quartz primary mirror. Quartz provides outstanding thermal stability even during significant temperature changes, while the honeycomb structure reduces the telescope weight by 2.2 kg, making balancing easier and allowing use on medium-class mounts such as the iOptron GEM45, iOptron HAE43 and Sky-Watcher EQ6-R.

The interior of the tube is coated with matte black paint to absorb stray light. Multiple internal baffles further improve image contrast by reducing unwanted reflections.

All mechanical components are fully CNC machined. The solid secondary holder keeps the secondary mirror perfectly centered without flexure, while the lightweight primary mirror cell is also CNC machined. Convenient adjustment knobs are provided on both the secondary spider and the primary mirror cell for easier collimation.

The 3 inch Monorail Rack and Pinion hybrid focuser is designed to support heavy imaging equipment while providing precise fine focusing. It includes M56x0.75 male, M74x1 male, M82x1 male and M78x1 female threads for direct connection of heavy cameras and coma correctors, including the Tecnosky 0.85x model. It is also compatible with ZWO EAF, iOptron iEAF and Pegasus VCube electronic focus motors.

The telescope is supplied with a pair of CNC tube rings and a 330 mm Losmandy dovetail plate. Total tube length is 950 mm and weight is only 9.8 kg in this Light Weight configuration.

To accelerate thermal equilibrium, the primary mirror cell includes three cooling fans. The protective cap can also be removed to create airflow through the tube, allowing the mirror to reach ambient temperature within minutes.

For astrophotography, the manufacturer recommends the Tecnosky 0.95x, Tecnosky 1x Full Frame ED, and Tecnosky 0.85x Full Frame 3 inch coma correctors.
