DayStar Filters Sol 130 mm Prominence Dedicated Solar Telescope

Description

The DayStar Filters Sol 130 mm Prominence Dedicated Solar Telescope is engineered for advanced observation of prominence structures in Hydrogen Alpha at 6562.8 angstroms. It also reveals flares active regions spicules and dynamic solar limb features which evolve within minutes offering constantly renewed views.

The telecentric optical system provides native full disk coverage visually. Sensors taller than 16.5 millimeters capture the entire disk directly. A 0.6x and a 0.33x reducer allow full disk coverage for smaller sensors such as one over one point seven inch or larger. The manufacturer indicates that it is the smallest and lightest 130 mm narrowband solar telescope ever made. The integrated carry handle doubles as a solar finder.

Thermal tuning is PID electronically controlled with plus or minus zero point five angstrom range. Settling time is approximately five minutes. The exact full width half maximum bandpass is not provided by the manufacturer. The integrated blocking filter has eighteen millimeter aperture. Clear exit aperture is nineteen millimeters.

The rack and pinion dual speed twelve to one focuser includes a locking mechanism and is compatible with most motorized focus drives. Focus travel supports direct camera attachment to filter then two inch diagonal and eyepiece.

Locking retractable dew shield included. Mounting rings with Vixen style dovetail and 1 4 20 interface allow telescope or photo tripods. Power is USB 5 volt 1.5 amp micro B. Operating temperature range is 40 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Dimensions diameters OTA weight and full weight are TBA.

Made in USA with long term serviceability. Included mounting rings dovetail solar finder handle dust covers Imaging Flat Cap AC power supply 90 to 240 volt with US UK Euro Australian plugs USB cable 1.25 inch adapter and hard case. Shipping planned April 2026 price to be announced.
