The DayStar Filters Sol 80 mm Dedicated Solar Telescope Chromosphere is a complete, professional Hydrogen Alpha (656.28 nm) solar telescope optimized for chromosphere observation. It reveals solar filaments, flares, spicules, active regions, and many other dynamic phenomena in red H-alpha light.

This integrated telescope offers safety, ease of use, and consistent performance, showing rapid solar changes visible within minutes.

Entirely Made in the USA in DayStar’s vertically integrated manufacturing facility, where every process, machining, assembly, and quality control, is handled in-house to ensure precision and service excellence.

With its 80 mm aperture and 1400 mm effective focal length (f/17.5), the Sol 80 Chromosphere offers full-disk views and fine-detail resolution. The integrated 4.3× telecentric Barlow guarantees uniform illumination across the field for visual observations.

The new 12:1 dual-speed helical rack-and-pinion focuser, manufactured by DayStar, ensures smooth, accurate focusing with a locking brake and stainless-steel reduction system for durability. It is compatible with most third-party focus motors (6 mm and 4 mm shafts, three M4 mount holes, 34 mm cone diameter).

Included accessories: mounting rings, Vixen dovetail with ¼-20 thread, carry handle with built-in solar finder, caps, Flat Cap for imaging, AC power adapter (90–240 V), USB 5 V 1.5 A micro-B cable, 1.25″ eyepiece adapter, and hard case.

The electronic PID thermal tuning system allows ±0.5 Å manual adjustment in 0.1 Å steps for precise wavelength control, with a settling time of 5–6 minutes after power-up or tuning change.

The locking retractable dew shield, CNC-machined aluminum tube, and lightweight construction ensure portability and durability. Fully compatible with DayStar Quark accessories, including 2″ adapters, tilt adapters, focal reducers, and battery systems.
