Description

The DayStar SS60-ds is a fully integrated H-alpha solar telescope designed for convenience, precision, and optical excellence. It features a built-in Double Stack Fabry-Perot etalon and an internal Quark H-alpha module, providing exceptional surface contrast and rich chromospheric detail without the need for external stacking.

Its 60 mm achromatic doublet objective delivers a 930 mm effective focal length (f/15.5), ensuring detailed, high-contrast images of the Sun’s chromosphere and prominences. The front-position helical focuser provides fine and stable focusing without rotation or image shift, perfectly suited for visual or imaging applications.

The integrated Solar Bullet finder safely projects a bright solar spot onto a white screen for quick, secure alignment. The system maintains precise temperature control through a USB 5 V / 1.5 A power input, ensuring the H-alpha band remains tuned at 656.28 nm. LED indicators show the operational status (warming, ready, fault).

The SS60-ds includes a Vixen/photo dovetail mounting plate, wall power supply, and micro-USB cable. Compatibility with 2" eyepieces and camera adapters is possible with optional accessories.

Among all 40–60 mm H-alpha telescopes, the SS60-ds offers the best value, providing professional optical performance in a compact, portable format suitable for outreach, education, and personal observation.
