DayStar Quark Prominence
New product
The DayStar Quark Prominence turns any refractor into a dedicated H-alpha solar telescope for viewing prominences. Designed for f/4 to f/8 refractors, it provides bright, high-contrast views of the Sun’s outer layers. For telescopes larger than 80 mm aperture, an ERF filter is strongly recommended.

The DayStar Quark Prominence is a complete optical module that instantly converts any refractor into a high-quality H-alpha solar telescope.
Its all-in-one system integrates a 4.2x telecentric lens optimized for 656.28 nm, a solid-state Fabry-Perot etalon and a full blocking filter that eliminates all radiation from X-ray to infrared.
The Prominence model is specifically optimized for bright, high-contrast views of solar prominences and external atmospheric details. With a slightly wider bandwidth than the Chromosphere version, it delivers more luminous and dynamic visual performance, ideal for observing large plasma structures and coronal arcs.
No special configuration is required. Simply insert the unit into a 1.25 or 2-inch diagonal and add an eyepiece.
It features a brass compression ring, a wavelength tuning knob with ±0.5 Å range and 0.1 Å steps, and LED indicators showing power, warming, ready and fault conditions.
Power is supplied via USB 5 V – 1.5 A, and a 90–240 V AC adapter with international plugs is included.
The Quark Prominence operates best with f/4 to f/8 refractors and allows full-disk viewing up to 450 mm focal length.
For refractors with apertures greater than 80 mm, an ERF (Energy Rejection Filter) is strongly recommended to manage thermal load and ensure the long-term stability of the etalon.
The module comes with a rigid Twist-Case for safe, dust-free storage.
