Description
The Baader AstroSolar Binocular Filter 60 mm is designed for safe visual observation of the Sun and solar photography with binoculars or camera lenses. Using AstroSolar Safety Film OD 5.0, it reduces solar radiation to a safe level while preserving fine details and high contrast.
The filter is stress-free mounted into a high-quality cell, consisting of a stabilizing plastic ring inserted into an aluminum front frame. One side of the cell is shortened to allow use with binoculars, even when the central bridge is nearly closed. For binocular viewing, two filters are mandatory, with the listed price referring to a single piece.
It includes three injection-molded centering bolts with brass inserts and rubber grip faces, adjustable for internal tube diameters from 91 to 106 mm and external diameters from 65 to 80 mm. Non-rotating aluminum sliding fasteners with integrated indicators and Phillips screws ensure firm fixation. Black sliding washers block stray light at the sides of the filter cell.
Three safety straps with adhesive Velcro pads provide extra security under any circumstances. Each filter comes with a cardboard storage box and a safety warning printed on the front side, reminding users to read the instructions before use.
