The carbon tube is incredibly rigid and less sensitive to temperature variations, ensuring stable focusing and collimation over time.
The interior of the tube is coated with a matte black paint and equipped with multiple internal diaphragms to eliminate unwanted reflections and enhance contrast.
The secondary mirror holder, precisely machined with CNC technology, ensures perfect centering with no flexing.
Similarly, the primary mirror cell, also CNC-machined, is lightweight, precise, and equipped with convenient collimation knobs.
By opting for CNC-machined aluminum instead of the traditional die-casting technique, this Newton telescope stands out from the competition. This approach virtually eliminates the typical flaws of this optical design while keeping the price competitive.
The focuser is a robust 2" Monorail model with Tecnosky retrofit, capable of supporting heavy loads without flexing and compatible with major motorization systems such as ZWO EAF, iOptron iEAF, or Pegasus Vcube.
The tube comes with a sturdy pair of CNC rings and two 220 mm red Vixen bars.
With a length of 490 mm and a weight of only 4.8 kg, this tube can be used even with small mounts such as the iOptron HEM15, CEM26, or Skywatcher EQM35.
The 150 mm F/4 Newton is primarily designed for deep-sky astrophotography, where its fast focal ratio facilitates imaging faint objects even with narrowband filters. However, its excellent optical and mechanical quality also makes it ideal for visual observation, offering bright views of nebulae, galaxies, and fine details on the Moon and planets.
For photographic use, we recommend a coma corrector, such as the Tecnosky 0.95X or the 1x FF model with ED lenses.
