190 mm Maksutov-Newtonian astrograph with a 1000 mm focal length and f/5.26 focal ratio. The Sky-Watcher Starlux 190MN combines a low-expansion borosilicate primary mirror, RAQ coatings, 2-inch dual-speed 10:1 Crayford focuser and internally baffled tube.
Designed for astrophotography and demanding visual observation, the Sky-Watcher Starlux 190MN combines a 190 mm aperture with a 1000 mm focal length and f/5.26 focal ratio.
The Maksutov-Newtonian design provides a highly corrected field, strong contrast and freedom from chromatic aberration, making it particularly suitable for deep-sky imaging.
The low-expansion borosilicate primary mirror and Radiant Aluminum Quartz RAQ coatings provide good thermal stability and stated reflectivity of up to 94%.
The rolled-steel tube incorporates five internal baffles designed to reduce unwanted reflections. A 2-inch dual-speed 10:1 Crayford focuser and 9 × 50 right-angle finderscope complete the system.
190 mm Maksutov-Newtonian Optics
The Starlux 190MN combines the principles of a Newtonian reflector with a Maksutov-type front meniscus corrector.
This design provides a highly corrected field with pinpoint stars across a large portion of the image and no chromatic aberration.
1000 mm Focal Length at f/5.26
With its 190 mm aperture and 1000 mm focal length, the Starlux 190MN operates at f/5.26.
This configuration provides a useful balance of photographic field, resolution and light-gathering capability for deep-sky imaging.
Borosilicate Primary Mirror
The primary mirror is manufactured from low-expansion borosilicate glass.
This material reduces changes in mirror shape during cool-down and allows the mirror to reach thermal equilibrium more quickly.
Radiant Aluminum Quartz RAQ Coating
The primary and secondary mirrors feature Sky-Watcher Radiant Aluminum Quartz RAQ coatings.
Sky-Watcher specifies reflectivity of up to 94% together with protective layers designed for long-term optical durability.
64 mm Secondary Mirror
The secondary mirror has a diameter of 64 mm.
Its size provides field illumination suitable for use with larger imaging sensors.
2-Inch Dual-Speed Crayford Focuser
Focusing is provided by a 2-inch dual-speed Crayford focuser.
Its 10:1 reduction allows particularly precise fine focusing for astrophotography.
Five Internal Baffles
The rolled-steel optical tube incorporates five internal baffles.
They are designed to reduce unwanted internal reflections and help improve image contrast.
9 × 50 Right-Angle Finderscope
A 9 × 50 right-angle optical finderscope is supplied to assist with locating and centring celestial objects.
