The Vixen VMC260L is a modified Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope designed for advanced users and professionals. It features a 260 mm aperture and a 3000 mm focal length, yet remains compact at only 650 mm in length. Unlike traditional SCTs, it uses a corrector lens in front of the secondary mirror and has an open tube design, allowing for quick thermal equilibration.
With dielectric-coated mirrors, it delivers extremely bright and sharp images, and its optical quality surpasses that of standard Schmidt-Cassegrain systems. Optimised for imaging, it supports a 0.62x focal reducer (optional) to achieve f/7.1, reducing exposure times and expanding the field of view.
Despite its performance level, the system remains portable at 12.1 kg. It includes a standard Vixen-style dovetail, a dual-purpose carry handle (which also serves as a camera mount), a finder bracket shoe (finder not included), and an EA60 mm to 2" adapter.
Ideal for imaging the Moon, planets, and faint deep-sky targets, the VMC260L offers professional-grade performance for serious amateurs and researchers alike.
