Description
The OPFA II is a complete and rigid eyepiece projection system developed by Baader Planetarium, specifically designed for astrophotography with DSLR or film cameras that have a removable lens. This version includes a 50.8 mm safety nosepiece for 2" focusers and an integrated 2" filter thread, ensuring mechanical stability and optical flexibility.

At the heart of the system is the OPFA IV projection base, combined with two 40 mm T-2 extension tubes and a sliding focuser featuring a locking ring. A projection eyepiece (not included) is inserted into the assembly, and the exact projection distance between the eyepiece and camera sensor can be finely tuned for optimal magnification.

The rear T-2 thread connects to your camera using a camera-specific T-ring (not included). This modularity allows for significant flexibility in projection setups, and the system can be extended further using additional Astro T-2 components. The entire configuration is built to be vibration-free and completely light-tight, even when used with long optical trains or CCD setups.

OPFA II is suitable for classic eyepiece projection with lens-removed DSLR cameras or for afocal setups when a fixed-lens camera is used. In afocal configurations, Baader recommends using the ADPS system.
