DESCRIPTION

Developed over three years, the Explore Scientific HR Coma Corrector delivers diffraction-limited performance across the field. Its 4-lens design flattens the field and corrects coma and astigmatism, even on Newtonians as fast as f/3. It extends focal length by just 6 %, preserving system speed.

The corrector reaches a polystrehl of 0.98 at f/4 and 0.96 at f/3. It is fully usable visually and photographically. For visual use, it requires 32 mm of inward focus travel but keeps the focal plane aligned with the focuser’s end. For imaging, it shifts focus outward by 35 mm, ensuring camera compatibility when focus is normally reachable.

The HR Coma Corrector is supplied as a complete package: integrated helical focuser with laser-etched scale, T2 (M42x0.75) and M48 (M48x0.75) adaptors. Designed for all standard 2" focusers. The corrected flat field diameter is 30 mm – ideal for APS-C sensors. Barrel length: ~85 mm. Made of anodised aluminium and backed by a 10-year warranty.
