Description

The Baader UFC S70 adapter for C11 and C9.25 Hyperstar enables integration of the UFC filter drawer system with Celestron telescopes using Hyperstar optics. It is fully compatible with SC and EdgeHD versions of C11 and C9.25.

With an ultra-short optical height of just 4.1 mm, it supports fast f/2 optical configurations where backfocus is extremely limited. The telescope side features the dedicated Hyperstar thread for C11/C9.25, while the camera side uses the standard UFC S70 dovetail. This ensures perfect mechanical alignment and compatibility with UFC filter drawers and extensions.

Hyperstar systems are highly sensitive to backfocus. Filters typically shift focus outward by about 1/3 of their thickness. For 2 mm thick filters, this is approximately 0.66 mm. Total spacing must be adjusted accordingly, keeping precision within ±0.3 mm to avoid image degradation.

This adapter is ideal for demanding imaging setups using Hyperstar and filter drawers. It allows secure, collimated filter integration without sacrificing image quality or structural rigidity, and is perfect for observatories or remote automated imaging systems.
