Description

The Baader UFC adapter for C14 Hyperstar systems provides a precise and rigid connection between the Hyperstar lens of a Celestron C14 telescope (including SC and EdgeHD variants) and the Baader UFC filter drawer system.

On the telescope side, it is machined to perfectly fit the Hyperstar thread, ensuring mechanical stability and optical alignment. On the camera side, it features the standard S70 dovetail, enabling direct integration with the UFC Base (#2459110) and compatible extension tubes.

With an optical height of 8.3 mm, this adapter is carefully dimensioned for fast optical systems working at f/2, where backfocus must be controlled with extreme precision. When using filters, the optical path is affected depending on filter thickness. A 2 mm thick filter shifts the focus by ~0.66 mm outward (1/3 of filter thickness), which must be accounted for in total backfocus calculation.

Baader strongly advises providing the exact Hyperstar and camera models when ordering, to ensure accurate spacing and preserve image quality within a ±0.3 mm tolerance.
