Description
The T-2i to SP54a adapter is part of Baader Planetarium’s Hyperion DT-Ring series. It provides a direct transition from an internal T-2 thread (M42 x 0.75) to an external SP54 thread, ensuring compatibility between the Digital T Adapter System II and SP54 rings used with Hyperion eyepieces, M54 rings, and the ADPS (Afocal Digital Projection System) series.

This adapter is a core component of the system, essential for connecting Hyperion SP54 rings to ADPS setups via the DT Adapter II, or directly to Hyperion eyepieces for certain compatible cameras. Its design is optimised to provide the shortest possible mechanical distance between the eyepiece and the camera lens, reducing vignetting and maximising sharpness in afocal projection imaging.

Thanks to its compatibility with the T-2 system, it integrates seamlessly into a wide range of astrophotography setups, including those using dedicated T-adapters for DSLR, mirrorless, or planetary cameras.

For DSLR users employing 2" filters, it can be paired with the M48i to SP54a filter holder for (D)SLR (#2408166), allowing filter integration directly into the optical path without significantly increasing the optical length.
