Description
The SP54i to M37a adapter is part of Baader Planetarium’s Hyperion DT-Ring range, developed for high-precision afocal projection. Its mechanical design allows the camera lens to be positioned extremely close to the eyepiece, minimizing vignetting and improving image quality.
It is compatible with DT Adapter II and III, attaching directly to Hyperion 68° eyepieces, and can also be used with Morpheus 76° eyepieces via Baader adapters #2458040 and #2958080. In certain setups, an SP54i / SP54a extension ring (#2958090) is required to achieve proper connection.
The SP54i to M37a is a reducing adapter with an M37 lens-side thread, ideal for compact or mirrorless cameras featuring this filter thread diameter. With an optical length of just 1 mm, it ensures perfect alignment between the eyepiece and camera lens, critical for preventing light loss and distortion.
For DSLR users wishing to use 2" filters, it can be combined with the M48i to SP54a filter holder for (D)SLR (#2408166), allowing filters to be integrated into the optical path without increasing total optical spacing.
Lightweight (10 g), durable, and precisely machined, this adapter fits seamlessly into Baader’s SP54 modular system, providing a secure and stable mounting solution for afocal astrophotography applications.
