Description
The SP54i to M55a adapter, part of Baader Planetarium’s Hyperion DT-Ring series, is specifically designed to achieve the shortest possible spacing between an eyepiece lens and a digital camera lens. This feature greatly reduces vignetting and enhances image sharpness during afocal projection photography.
It is compatible with DT Adapter II and III, attaching directly to Hyperion 68° eyepieces. When used with Baader adapters #2458040 and #2958080, it can also be mounted on Morpheus 76° eyepieces. This makes it an excellent choice for planetary or lunar photography with compact or mirrorless cameras.
With an optical length of just 1 mm, it ensures optimal alignment between the eyepiece and camera lens. Such minimal spacing is critical for wide-field systems or large-format sensors, where any extra distance could cause noticeable vignetting.
For DSLR users who wish to incorporate 2" filters, the adapter can be combined with the M48i to SP54a filter holder for (D)SLR, enabling easy filter integration into the optical path.
Precision-machined and built from robust yet lightweight materials, this adapter ensures a stable, secure and play-free connection, integrating seamlessly into Baader Planetarium’s modular SP54 system.
