Description
The SP54i to M62a adapter, also known as the Hyperion DT-Ring, is engineered to provide the shortest possible distance between an eyepiece lens and a digital camera lens, reducing vignetting and improving sharpness in afocal projection setups.
It attaches directly to Hyperion 68° eyepieces and, with the appropriate adapters (#2458040 and #2958080), to Morpheus 76° eyepieces. It is fully compatible with DT Adapter II and III, ensuring seamless integration into existing imaging configurations.
This adapter is especially suited for users wishing to mount a digital camera onto a Hyperion eyepiece while maintaining precise and stable alignment. Its minimal optical length (1 mm) keeps the optical train as short as possible, maximizing image quality.
For DSLR cameras using 2" filters, the setup can be complemented with the M48i to SP54a filter holder for (D)SLR (#2408166), allowing filters to be placed directly in the optical path.
Manufactured with precision by Baader Planetarium, this adapter is machined to ensure perfect rigidity and full compatibility with the SP54 system. Its lightweight design (20 g) and 53 mm clear aperture make it a discreet yet effective accessory for demanding astrophotography setups.
