Description
The Explore Scientific ED102 CF APO f/7 FCD-100 refractor delivers high-end performance in a compact, lightweight format paired with the precise iEXOS-100 PMC-Eight GoTo mount. This astrograph-quality system is ideal for visual observers and astrophotographers seeking sharp, high-contrast, color-free images.
The triplet objective features a central HOYA FCD-100 extra-low dispersion element with air-spaced lens design and enhanced multi-layer coating. Its excellent optical correction achieves a polystrehl value > 0.97, ensuring outstanding image fidelity across the field. The carbon fiber tube helps minimize thermal expansion and keeps the total weight to only 3.3 kg.
The 2.5" HEXAFOC focuser with 10:1 reduction offers fine control and a generous 65 mm clear aperture, preventing vignetting even with large camera sensors. The retractable dew shield and compact folded length make this telescope exceptionally portable, well-suited for travel or grab-and-go astronomy.
The included iEXOS-100 equatorial mount with PMC-Eight™ system provides high-precision tracking, guided by eight independent CPUs. It supports Wi-Fi control via the ExploreStars app (Windows, Android, iOS) and is ASCOM/INDI compatible for PC-based setups. A 26 mm 62° LER argon-purged eyepiece and an illuminated 8x50 erect-image finder are also included.
