Designed for high-magnification terrestrial and astronomical viewing, the Sky Rover 82 APO BINO combines 82 mm apochromatic objectives, Super ED glass and interchangeable 1.25-inch eyepieces. Its 45-degree viewing angle provides comfortable two-eye observation.
Designed to provide high magnification without sacrificing the comfort of true two-eye viewing, the Sky Rover 82 APO BINO 45 Degree offers an attractive alternative to conventional monocular spotting scopes.
Observing with both eyes reduces visual fatigue during extended sessions and provides a more natural viewing experience. This becomes particularly valuable at higher magnifications when examining landscapes, observing birds or exploring the night sky.
With two 82 mm objectives and a 470 mm focal length, the instrument provides a versatile optical platform for a wide range of magnifications. Its apochromatic optical design uses an air-spaced doublet incorporating a Super ED element to reduce chromatic aberration while preserving accurate colour rendition and fine detail.
Standard 1.25-inch eyepiece holders allow different eyepiece pairs to be selected according to the intended application. Flat-field, wide-angle or ultra-wide-angle eyepieces can therefore be used to adapt both magnification and field of view for terrestrial or astronomical observation.
Independent focusing for each eye allows precise adjustment to the observer's eyesight. The interpupillary distance can also be adjusted from 54 to 75 mm for comfortable binocular alignment.
The 45-degree eyepiece orientation provides a comfortable viewing position when the binoculars are installed on a suitable tripod or mount. This configuration is well suited to birdwatching, landscape viewing and a wide variety of astronomical observations.
Built from a magnesium-aluminium alloy, the body provides the rigidity required to maintain alignment between the two optical paths while keeping total weight to 4.5 kg. An integrated carrying handle simplifies transport and handling, and a dedicated mounting point is provided for a finder.
The base incorporates both 1/4-inch and 3/8-inch threaded mounting points for compatible support systems. Given the objective size and available magnifications, use with a sufficiently stable tripod or mount is recommended.
Two UF18 mm eyepieces are supplied as standard, providing a complete observing configuration straight out of the box.
