DESCRIPTION
The iOptron HEM27EC is a compact and innovative equatorial mount designed for astrophotographers seeking performance, portability, and precision. It features a strain wave gear in right ascension combined with a zero-backlash worm and belt system in declination. Weighing only 3.7 kg, it supports up to 13.5 kg of payload without any counterweight.
The HEM27EC includes a high-resolution RA encoder for real-time periodic error correction (RPEC), enabling unguided long exposures with moderate focal lengths. It also features an electronic safety brake that stops the mount in the event of a power failure.
The integrated iPolar electronic polar scope allows for quick and highly accurate polar alignment, even when Polaris is not visible. Internal cable management eliminates any risk of snags or wrapping.
With its dual Vixen/Losmandy saddle, ST-4 guiding port, Go2Nova hand controller with 212,000-object database, and USB/Wi-Fi connectivity, the HEM27EC is a complete and modern astrophotography solution. It can be controlled via PC (ASCOM), Mac/Linux (INDI), smartphone (SkySafari, Commander Lite), or Raspberry Pi. It is compatible with CEM26, GEM28, 8061 carbon tripod, or Tripier 8034 (with adapter).
