Description
The Astronomik UHC-E 2" filter is designed to improve visual observation of emission nebulae and comets under light-polluted skies. With a full width at half maximum (FWHM) of 45 nm, it blocks unwanted light from sodium and mercury vapor lamps and skyglow, while transmitting key wavelengths such as H-beta, OIII, and H-alpha.
This filter is compatible with all telescope types (refractors, reflectors, Maksutovs, SCTs), but is especially recommended for instruments up to 125 mm aperture, where it provides a well-balanced improvement in contrast without overly dimming the image. For larger telescopes, more selective filters like the UHC or CLS may be preferred.
It features a standard 2" M48 threaded cell compatible with most eyepieces and accessories, and is parfocal with other Astronomik filters, eliminating the need to refocus when changing filters.
