DESCRIPTION

The Baader Hyperion 17 mm eyepiece belongs to Baader Planetarium’s modular fixed focal length series, designed to provide a wide 68° apparent field of view with crisp, contrast-rich images across the full field. It features 8 lens elements in 5 groups and uses Baader’s Phantom Coating® Group, a 7-layer broadband multi-coating that optimizes light transmission at night vision sensitivity (~520 nm) and minimizes stray reflections.

Equipped with dual 1.25" and 2" barrels, this eyepiece is compatible with most telescope focusers. It supports photo projection via integrated M43 and SP54 threads: M43 for classical eyepiece projection with T2 adapters, and SP54 for afocal setups using compact cameras or camcorders.

Focal tuning is possible using Baader's 14 mm or 28 mm 2" fine tuning extension rings or by adding filters inside the 2" barrel. This method allows focal length variation without degrading image quality as no additional optics are inserted like with a Barlow lens.

Compatible with Zeiss Diascope spotting scopes using the Baader 1.25" bayonet adapter (#2454500). The optional Baader stop ring (#2958097) ensures repeatable focusing positions when used with star diagonals.

Includes three dust caps, a folding eyecup, and soft leather pouch. The design ensures robust construction, modular flexibility, and outstanding optical performance.
