The iOptron HAE29 is a compact strain wave dual-mode (AZ/EQ) mount designed for astrophotographers seeking high performance in a lightweight package. With a head weight under 4 kg and a payload capacity of 13.5 kg without counterweights, the HAE29 offers remarkable efficiency.
Both RA and DEC axes are driven by strain wave gear, providing exceptional tracking precision and zero backlash. Its CNC-machined aluminum body is rugged and black-anodized for durability, while advanced features like the electronic safety brake and power loss memory ensure secure and continuous operation.
Control options include the Go2Nova hand controller (with 212,000 objects), a Windows PC (ASCOM/Commander), smartphone or tablet (Commander Lite, SkySafari), or Raspberry Pi via INDI. The integrated iPolar electronic polar scope makes polar alignment fast and accurate, even without a traditional polar finder.
The mount features a dual saddle for Vixen and Losmandy dovetails, built-in Wi-Fi, ST4 autoguiding port, USB firmware upgrade port, and optimized cable management. It’s the perfect companion for mobile astrophotography.
