DESCRIPTION
The ZWO ASI482MC is a color camera equipped with the Sony IMX482 1/1.2" sensor, offering a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and large 5.8 µm pixels. The back-illuminated (BSI) CMOS architecture delivers excellent low-light sensitivity, with a SNR1s of 0.08 lux, making it ideal for low-brightness targets.
Its full well capacity of 51.5 ke⁻ ensures high dynamic range, perfect for imaging bright solar system targets like the Moon and planets. The High Conversion Gain (HCG) mode activates above a gain of 80, reducing read noise to around 1.5 e⁻ while maintaining excellent dynamic range.
With its USB 3.0 interface, the camera achieves fast frame rates up to 82.5 fps in RAW 8/10-bit mode, or 57.5 fps in RAW 12-bit mode. A built-in ST-4 port is available for autoguiding.
With a peak quantum efficiency around 85% at 530 nm, the ASI482MC excels in capturing fine details even under low light. It is well-suited for planetary imaging, EAA (Electronically Assisted Astronomy), and short-exposure deep-sky astrophotography.
