Description:
The Hedrick Focuser 3.5" by PlaneWave is a high-end focusing unit designed for CDK 14", 17", 20", and 24" telescopes. Precision-machined from black anodized aluminum, it employs a worm-drive mechanism supported by five guide bearings, ensuring excellent rigidity and slip-free operation. The focuser offers a 33 mm linear travel, enabling accurate focus even with complex optical setups.
An integrated stepper motor allows remote operation through the EFA (Electronic Focuser Accessory) module or via PlaneWave Interface 3 (PWI3) software on a PC. This full automation capability is ideal for robotic or remote observatories. The rigid mechanical structure ensures perfect repeatability, essential for advanced astrophotography.
The focuser mounts via a standard 3.5" thread and supports imaging setups up to 9.1 kg, including CCD cameras, filter wheels, off-axis guiders, or correctors. With no slip or backlash, the focus remains stable throughout long exposures.
