The ED 2X GSO 50.8 barlow lens has a doublet with an ED element of high optical quality (free aperture 37mm). Inserted into the 50.8 eyepiece holder it provides 2X the focal length of the instrument.
The optical unit ED has a 48mm thread (like the 50.8mm filters) and can be screwed directly behind the eyepieces or other optical accessories, ccd cameras, reflex cameras etc. providing, in this case, 1.5X magnification.
