Description:
The PlaneWave IRDK24 is a 610 mm telescope designed for high-end infrared and ultraviolet applications. Its Dall-Kirkham optical system uses only reflective components—no lenses—to achieve diffraction-limited performance over a 20 mm image circle.

Its gold-coated mirrors provide over 98% reflectivity between 650 nm and 5000 nm, making the IRDK24 ideal for IR astronomy and LIDAR. UV-optimized coatings are available at extra cost. This system is perfectly suited for research facilities and observatories that require high infrared sensitivity and precision.

Fused Silica, used throughout the optical train, offers exceptional optical and thermal properties. It maintains optical figure stability through temperature fluctuations and provides high transmission and homogeneity. With its low expansion coefficient, the IRDK24 maintains focus and imaging performance over long sessions.

The instrument is Delta-T Ready, with internal wiring for mirror heaters (requires controller #1329110, sold separately). The 3.5" Hedrick focuser and EFA Kit are also compatible. An 8" dovetail is included for mounting.

Standard accessories include a 12V AC power adapter, Allen wrench set (EU orders), soft secondary mirror cover, OTA dust cover, spacer between the back plate and focuser, and a USB flash drive with collimation software and instructions.
