Description

The Explore Scientific MAK-NT 152 combines a fast f/4.8 Newtonian system with Maksutov-style coma correction via a thick front meniscus lens. This optical configuration produces flat, coma-free images across the entire field of view — a major advantage for wide-field astrophotography, where stars are expected to remain sharp even at the edges of large-format sensors.

The optical tube is made from carbon fiber, ensuring high mechanical rigidity with excellent thermal stability. This minimizes flexure and prevents focus drift due to temperature changes, resulting in stable collimation even under demanding imaging conditions.

The 2" Crayford-style focuser with a 1.25" adapter provides precise, backlash-free focusing. A red-illuminated 8x50 finder scope is included for initial target alignment and framing.
