DESCRIPTION
The CGX 1100 RASA is a complete imaging system built around the Rowe-Ackermann Schmidt Astrograph optical design, featuring a 279 mm aperture and a 620 mm focal length at f/2.2. The 4-element rare-earth glass corrector guarantees images free from chromatic aberration, coma, or field curvature. It delivers a 43.3 mm optimized image circle, with only minimal performance loss at 52 mm, making it ideal for full-frame sensors.
The Ultra-Stable Focus System minimizes mirror shift and mirror flop, thanks to its linear ball bearing mechanism. It's compatible with the optional Celestron focus motor (#94155-A). Cooling is provided by a built-in 12V MagLev fan with a battery pack. The optical tube includes a 68 mm window, T-thread (42 mm) and M48 (48 mm) camera adapters, and dual CGE-style dovetails (top and bottom) for accessories.
The CGX mount supports modern control protocols (CPWI, SkyPortal, Starry Night SE), features precise All-Star Polar Alignment, programmable periodic error correction (PPEC), and has ports for USB, autoguider, and auxiliary connections. Its compact design, steel tripod legs (50.8 mm), and four 11 lb counterweights provide excellent stability and transportability.
