The 10Micron GM3000 HPS is a German equatorial mount specifically designed for permanent installations and remote-controlled observatories. It combines powerful mechanics, full autonomy and top-tier tracking precision. With absolute encoders on both axes, it tracks unguided with accuracy under one arcsecond.
This mount includes massive alloy steel shafts: 80 mm for right ascension and 50 mm for declination. It features 32 mm and 24 mm tempered steel worms driving 315 and 250 tooth bronze worm wheels. The drive system uses dual servo brushless motors with zero-backlash timing belts.
The rigid CNC-machined structure ensures long-term mechanical stability, even under heavy loads.
Absolute encoders allow unguided tracking accuracy under one arcsecond RMS over 15 minutes. The internal model includes up to 100 stars and compensates for polar misalignment, flexure and atmospheric refraction (with built-in pressure and temperature sensors). Pointing accuracy is under 20 arcseconds RMS.
The mount operates autonomously via the heated red-backlit hand controller, or remotely through RS-232 or Ethernet. It is fully compatible with ASCOM and LX200-based software. A virtual keypad interface allows full remote access.
