The Lunt LS80MT H-alpha is a high-end solar telescope designed for advanced and professional users seeking precise observation of the Sun in the H-alpha line. With an 80 mm aperture and 560 mm focal length, this apochromatic refractor features an ED doublet with FPL-53 glass for exceptional chromatic correction.
Solar observation is made possible through an internal etalon with Pressure-Tuner control, ensuring a uniform image without central obstruction. This system reveals intricate details of the solar chromosphere, including prominences, filaments, flares and granulation.
The B1200 blocking filter is integrated into a 90° star diagonal, equipped with both 1.25" and T2 connections. It offers a suitable field for both visual observation and planetary photography with small sensors. The included 2" Rack & Pinion focuser features a 10:1 dual-speed reduction, enabling precise focusing.
Designed as a modular instrument, the LS80MT can be converted into a classic night-time apochromatic refractor by removing the H-alpha module and using a dedicated conversion kit (ref. 0551330, not included). It then becomes suitable for planetary or deep-sky observation.
The telescope includes a GP/Vixen-type dovetail, a hard transport case, an integrated solar finder in the handle, and a user manual.
