DESCRIPTION
The Daystar Quark Prominence transforms a standard refractor (F/4 to F/9) into a high-resolution H-alpha solar telescope, perfect for observing solar prominences. It integrates a 4.2x telecentric Barlow optimized for H-alpha (656nm), delivering enhanced contrast and a flat field. It operates on a simple 5V USB power source and features a thermal tuning knob to optimize the transmission band. A built-in blocking filter (12 mm, 21 mm clear aperture) ensures safety and performance without extra optical accessories. An LED shows the device’s operational status. Recommended focal lengths around 420 mm allow full solar disk viewing. An ERF front filter is advised for refractors over 100 mm or faster than F/6.
Included accessories:
1.25" adapter with brass compression ring
5V power supply
Protective carry case
Built-in blocking filter
Integrated 4.2x telecentric Barlow
Temperature tuning knob
Status LED indicator
