Description:
The Baader variable polarising filter in 1.25" format is designed to enhance visual comfort during lunar, planetary, and solar observations (with additional filtering). It enables smooth brightness adjustment by rotating one of the polarising elements, depending on the magnification and light conditions.
This system is a fixed, double polarising unit that cannot be separated, ensuring perfect alignment and eliminating internal reflections. The filter screws into any 1.25" standard-threaded eyepiece.
Its flat-parallel optical surfaces and high-quality coatings guarantee a sharp and high-contrast image even at high magnifications. For purely neutral light transmission, simple neutral density filters remain the best alternative for imaging.
Important: for solar observation, this filter must be used together with a certified safety filter such as AstroSolar ND 5.0 film or a Herschel wedge.
