The GM1000 HPS EP (Enhanced Performance) continues the success story of the GM1000 HPS into a new generation. It is not a replacement but an evolution of the original model.
Thanks to targeted mechanical reinforcements – including a 32 mm RA axis and improved bearings – it offers 20% more payload capacity (30 kg) while maintaining nearly the same weight. It is therefore a top choice for astrophotographers who demand maximum stability in a compact mount class.
The GM1000 HPS mount has been – and remains – a benchmark in its category: a perfect balance between payload capacity, portability, and the legendary pointing and tracking precision provided by our HPS technology. HPS stands for High Precision and Speed.
Absolute precision: thanks to high-precision absolute encoders on both axes, it delivers flawless pointing and tracking, eliminating the need for autoguiding in most situations.
Outstanding payload-to-weight ratio: optimal payload capacity in a lightweight and easily transportable mount body.
Robustness and reliability: designed to last and operate night after night, under any condition.
Advanced software: a powerful and intuitive control system offering professional-level features accessible to all users.
Remote operation capabilities and global support: engineered for reliable remote use, backed by a comprehensive worldwide sales and technical support network.
The GM1000 HPS EP reaches a GoTo speed of up to 15°/sec, pointing accuracy under 20", and tracking accuracy of about ±1" over 15 minutes (0.7" RMS).
In the field, this mount is faster and easier to install and align than any conventional equatorial mount.
The GM1000 HPS EP is the result of a targeted R&D process aimed at improving the mount’s key structural and technological aspects. Each improvement brings a concrete, measurable benefit to the astrophotographer.
Increased payload capacity – now 30 kg at the same price
20% more payload for larger-aperture telescopes, heavy filter wheels, or large cameras, while maintaining maximum stability and tracking accuracy.
Reinforced axes
The RA and DEC axes have been redesigned and thickened. The RA axis has been increased in diameter, which significantly improves structural rigidity, drastically reducing vibrations and flexure.
New, larger and reinforced bearings
As a direct result of the new axis design, the larger bearings ensure smoother movement, better load handling, and increased longevity of the mechanical system.
Redesigned worm gear supports
The new mechanical housings have been optimized to integrate more robust and high-performance worm gear supports. This minimizes flexure in the drive system, which is critical for excellent tracking.
Improved manufacturing quality and precision
The use of new CNC machines and 3D coordinate measuring machines (CMM) allows for tighter mechanical tolerances and consistent quality on every unit.
New control box V3
Hardware and software upgrades, with modernized electronics and industrial-grade connectors made in the EU, for improved performance and long-lasting, reliable connections.
Selective sourcing of materials
Stricter component selection criteria ensure top-level performance and long-term reliability.
Enhanced connectivity and web interface
New connectivity options, including an advanced web interface, allow full monitoring and precise control without physical interaction.
Optimized for remote operation
Global support network
The price does not include counterweights or power supply, which must be ordered separately (accessories).
