The Explore Scientific Ultra Light Dobson 254mm Generation II is a highly transportable truss-tube telescope crafted entirely from aluminum. Its modular construction allows quick, tool-free assembly, making it perfect for observers who demand both performance and mobility.

This second-generation design brings numerous refinements: new low-friction bearings (TEFLON and GFK), a redesigned primary mirror cell with precision adjustment, adjustable friction brakes on both altitude axes, quick-release fasteners with spring tension, and a dual-fan cooling system for the primary mirror.

Its 254mm aperture offers more than 1300 times the light-gathering power of the human eye, making it a powerhouse for deep-sky exploration. Planetary details become easily visible, even to beginners. Combined with a 1270mm focal length (f/5), this Dobsonian offers a wide field of view while still supporting high magnification for lunar and planetary observation.

Large altitude wheels, powder-coated for durability, ensure buttery-smooth tracking even at high magnifications. The optical tube is designed for use with coma correctors and offers a backfocus of 45mm (2") or 35mm (1.25"). The robust, all-metal build guarantees exceptional resistance to moisture and deformation, making it more durable than conventional wooden Dobsonians.
