Description:
The PlaneWave CDK24 is a 610 mm corrected Dall-Kirkham astrograph designed to deliver uncompromising performance for professional observatories and advanced astrophotographers. Its CDK optical configuration combines a concave primary, convex secondary, and integrated corrector to deliver a 70 mm flat field, free of off-axis coma, astigmatism, and curvature.

Fused Silica optics are used throughout the system. This high-purity synthetic glass offers unmatched thermal and optical stability. With a thermal expansion coefficient six times lower than Pyrex, it maintains excellent focus and optical quality under changing environmental conditions—ideal for long exposures and demanding research work.

The CDK24 features a 3962 mm focal length and f/6.5 focal ratio, balancing resolution and brightness for large-format CCD and CMOS sensors. It comes standard with a back plate retaining ring, ready to accept your preferred focuser, including the optional 3.5" Hedrick focuser and EFA motorization system (sold separately).

The carbon-structured OTA is Delta-T Ready, with integrated wiring for mirror heaters (Delta-T controller #1329110 required). Cooling fans ensure rapid thermal equilibrium by pulling air across the primary mirror.

Included with the CDK24 are an 8" dovetail, back plate spacer, OTA cover, soft secondary cover, USB drive with software and collimation instructions, Allen key set (EU orders), and 12V AC adapter. Crating is required and charged separately (#1323524).
