DESCRIPTION
The ZWO ASI183MC uses Sony’s IMX183 color CMOS back-illuminated sensor with a 1" format and a native resolution of 5496 x 3672 pixels (20.2 MP). With 2.4 micron pixels, it delivers very high detail levels, particularly with short focal length optics. The camera supports 12-bit (standard mode) or 10-bit (high-speed mode) data depth and up to 19 fps at full resolution.
The sensor features a peak quantum efficiency of 84%, with more than 60% at H-alpha. Read noise can be as low as 1.6 e⁻, enabling great performance with short exposures. The 12-bit ADC offers up to 12 stops of dynamic range.
The ASI183MC includes a USB 3.0 port for fast data transfer and a standard ST4 port for autoguiding. The compact body includes a standard M42x0.75 thread and fits 1.25" and 2" accessories (adapters included). This camera is excellent for planetary, lunar and solar imaging, and also performs well on wide-field deep-sky targets with fast optics.
