The Baader M48 Extension Tube 40 mm is designed to precisely adjust the optical path length of cameras and accessories with M48 threads.
On the telescope side, it features an internal M48 thread (3.5 mm depth), while the camera/eyepiece side has an external M48 thread (3 mm depth). Its optical path length is 40 mm.
It can also serve as a 2" (50.8 mm) nosepiece with a 36 mm insertion depth and safety kerfs. In this configuration, its optical height is 4 mm.
Made from high-quality aluminum, the adapter provides a clear aperture of 45 mm, an external diameter of 53 mm and a net weight of 0.05 kg.
Built to Baader’s modern 3 mm depth standard (replacing the older 5 mm T-2 standard), it ensures full compatibility with modern astrophotography cameras and accessories.
