The Explore Scientific BT-120 SF is a powerful binocular telescope designed for immersive visual observation of celestial and terrestrial targets. With dual 120 mm air-spaced achromatic lenses and fully multicoated optics, it offers sharp, contrast-rich views even in low light conditions.
Each optical path acts as a full-fledged refractor telescope, delivering twice the light-gathering capability of a single monocular instrument. The fast focal ratio of f/5.5 combined with the included pair of 20 mm Explore Scientific 62° LER eyepieces provides a 33x magnification and a 1.8° true field of view, ideal for observing star clusters, nebulae, the Moon, planets, ships, wildlife, and more.
The built-in 45° viewing angle allows for relaxed, fatigue-free use even when pointing high into the sky. Each eyepiece has individual helical focusers and is securely mounted in precision brass compression rings. The binoculars accept all standard 1.25" eyepieces, allowing magnifications from about 25x to 75x.
The magnesium housing is IPX6-rated for water resistance and nitrogen-filled to prevent internal fogging. Retractable dew shields help reduce stray light and protect the optics in humid conditions. A central carrying handle is included for easy transport and safe mounting.
Optional accessories include a dedicated U-mount with field tripod for stable and vibration-free support during extended sessions.
